All Inspections

During a routine inspection

The agency had systems in place to ensure that people consented to their care and support. We also saw evidence that people had consented to their information being shared with other professionals involved in their care and wellbeing. Care plans provided information on the support people required. We noted that risk assessments were personalised and contained information on how risk could be minimised.

All care employees undertook the agencies induction programme which included mandatory training in topics such as moving and handling and basic first aid. We saw evidence that staff received regular supervision and an annual appraisal.

The agency had a complaints policy and procedure in place and people who used the service were given a copy of the policy which provided information on how they could make a compliant. We saw that records were stored in a safe and secure way and was easily accessible.

We spoke with some relatives and/or people who used the service on 14 February 2014.People we spoke with all said that they were happy with the service that they had received. A person that we spoke with said 'the carers are very well trained' another person we spoke with described their carer as 'lovely'

People we spoke with were generally complimentary about the service and the care provided. Some said that the service was excellent, and others, that the care provided was very good. A person we spoke with stated that the care they received was 'excellent'. They said they were 'satisfied' with the service and that they had no complaints.

People felt very involved in planning their care package. A person said that they had received telephone calls and visits from the agency to check if they were happy with the service, and if they would like any changes in the care package.
