We carried out an assessment of this residential care home between 16 and 23 February 2026 with final feedback given on 9 March 2026. We visited because the service had an aged rating and required a full review of quality and safety under our new assessment approach. The home provides care and support for older people, including people living with dementia.
The provider had not only maintained a good standard of care since our last inspection but continued to improve. At this inspection we found the service was providing an exceptional level of person-centred care. The environment was warm, welcoming and homely. People told us staff were especially kind and supportive, and we saw consistently positive interactions during our visit. People said they felt safe living at the home, and relatives expressed confidence in the quality of care and leadership.
Staff worked extremely well together and showed dedication to supporting people to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. Activities were varied and inclusive, and staff encouraged people to take part in pastimes that mattered to them.
Mealtimes were calm, well organised and person‑centred. People described food as enjoyable and said there was plenty of choice. People who were at risk of malnutrition were given targeted support to promote good nutrition.
Leaders were visible and approachable. Staff told us they felt supported, and relatives said communication from managers was excellent.
The service was committed to continuous improvement. Staff described a strong learning culture where ideas were encouraged, and improvements embedded across the service. The provider maintained effective governance, and audits demonstrated a clear understanding of performance, risk and quality.

People consistently described experiencing exceptionally attentive and compassionate care that went beyond meeting their needs and made a positive difference to their daily lives. People told us staff were kind, respectful and genuinely caring, with one person saying, “The staff keep me cheerful and happy. I think they go above and beyond.” Another commented, “The staff are very kind,” reflecting the warmth and reassurance people experienced every day.
Many people were living with physical health, mental health and age‑related conditions that could have affected their dignity, confidence and independence. Despite this, staff’s in‑depth knowledge of individuals resulted in highly dignified, compassionate and respectful care in all interactions. People told us staff understood them well and tailored their approach accordingly, with one person saying, “They respect my need to be independent but are always around to help if I need anything,”
Relatives consistently expressed complete confidence in the care provided. Without exception, they told us their loved ones were safe, well supported and treated with kindness and respect. One relative said they had “Complete peace of mind”, knowing their loved one was in safe hands, while another described it as, “The best home I’ve been in.”
People’s choice and independence were maximised by all staff, creating a highly personalised care experience. People were supported to live as they wished, whether enjoying privacy in their own rooms or choosing to be sociable and take part in activities. One person told us, “I love that I can be myself here,” highlighting how staff respected diversity, individuality and normal routines.
Staff demonstrated a strong understanding of people’s life experiences and used this knowledge to personalise activities and interactions meaningfully. People told us they felt settled, had formed friendships and were encouraged to do what mattered to them. One person proudly said, “I love it here and could not be happier.”
Not all people were able to share their experiences verbally. However, observations consistently showed exceptional care and relationships. People appeared relaxed, cheerful and at ease around staff, who responded quickly and sensitively to needs, upheld dignity at all times and promoted independence in ways that were empowering rather than restrictive. This resulted in a calm, uplifting atmosphere where people felt safe, valued and genuinely at home.
