During a routine inspection

People we spoke with were satisfied that they felt they were listened to and they said their symptoms or condition were understood. Everyone we spoke with told us they had consented to their consultation and any treatment that they had undertaken. One person we spoke with said 'I ask questions. The Dr is very knowledgeable. We have a discussion in detail about my health. I am fully conversant with what's happening.' Another person said 'I am happy with my consultation and experience. I consented to my treatment.'

We saw that the systems in place for receiving, recording and storing medication were suitable to help to protect all parties.

People we spoke with during our visit confirmed that there were enough staff to support them. One person we spoke with said 'There are enough staff.' And a member of staff said 'We are alright with staffing. We cover holidays and sickness. Some people are part time and can cover days when they wouldn't be working.' This helped people to gain a timely service.

The quality of the service being provided was being monitored. Any issues found were acted upon. This ensured people remained satisfied with the service they received.

During a routine inspection

The majority of people we spoke to were very satisfied that they had received appropriate care, treatment and support. Comments included 'I've seen a big difference in my symptoms here' and 'I owe that man big time, the difference he's made to my life. '

People said they generally understood the treatments and what costs this would involve, although some people said the service needed to be 'more transparent' with information about treatment and eventual full costs. The practice obtained appropriate medical histories prior to treatment starting.

The practice had policies in place to safeguard children and vulnerable adults, and some staff had received safeguarding training. Appropriate checks were carried out on staff prior to recruitment. There was a complaints procedure in place and complaints had been responded to appropriately.
