CQC regulates both the premises and the care provided, and both were looked at during this assessment. At the time of our assessment 24 people were living at the service.

The assessment included an unannounced visit to the service which took place on 29 April 2025.

The last rating for this service was requires improvement (published 21 December 2023) when we identified breaches of legal regulations relating to person-centred care, safe care and treatment, premises and equipment and good governance. We asked the provider for an action plan telling us how and when they would make the required improvements. This assessment was scheduled to follow up on this action plan.

We found the provider had made improvements in all areas and the service is now rated good. They were no longer in breach of any legal regulations.

The provider assessed people’s needs and the risks relating to their care and wellbeing. They created plans to help keep people safe and make sure their needs and choices were met. The provider had systems for the safe management of medicines. The staff worked with other professionals to meet people’s healthcare needs.

The provider had systems to make sure staff were suitable, well trained and supported in their roles. There were enough staff deployed to provide care. The staff had the right skills and knew how to support people. Staff were happy and enjoyed working at the service.

The building was well maintained and clean. People had the equipment they needed to stay safe.

The provider had effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service, learning when things went wrong and managing complaints. People and their relatives knew who to contact if they had concerns. They felt well informed about the service and were able to make choices about how they were cared for.
