Our current view of the service

Requires improvement

Updated 27 May 2025

Dates of assessment: 29 May to 9 June 2025. Infinitycare365 is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living with dementia and people with complex health needs in their own homes. At the time of our assessment 11 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.

Some people’s care records did not always contain clear guidance for staff and were not always consistently completed. However, people were supported by staff who were trained and understood how to meet their individual needs.

People’s mental capacity assessments were not documented to ensure any decisions made on their behalf were done lawfully should they lack mental capacity. However, staff constantly offered people choices and respected their decisions if they declined support.

Staff recruitment records did not evidence that staff were recruited safely; the registered manager told us they did not document discussions with previous employers when obtaining references. Staff were not requested to provide a full employment histories which meant the provider was unable to determine if there were gaps in employment and the reason for the gaps.

People were protected from the risk of harm and abuse; staff undertook training and knew how to escalate concerns. The registered manager understood their duty to report any concerns to the local authority. However, they had not always notified CQC of incidents affecting the service.

People were supported by a kind and compassionate staff team who were supervised regularly. People’s medicines were managed safely, they received their medicines on time, this included where people were prescribed time specific medicines. Staff were trained in and followed infection prevention and control procedures to keep people safe.

Staff sought health and social care professional advice in response to people’s changing needs. Staff followed the advice, monitored outcomes and provided feedback to professionals when needed. The registered manager supported people to access health and social care services.

People benefitted from a consistent staff team who understood and respected their wishes and communication methods. People received person-centred care and by staff who knew them well. Most people being supported were at the end of their lives, staff worked with empathy and understanding but encouraged a level of independence, choice and control.

The service was run by a compassionate registered manager who created an inclusive culture for people, their relatives and staff. The registered manager sought people’s feedback and learned from complaints, near misses and incidents to continually improve people’s outcomes.

People's experience of the service

Updated 27 May 2025

People and their relatives told us they were satisfied with the service. Relatives said, “We have been incredibly pleased and happy with everything we have encountered so far, this has taken so much pressure off us, for a horrible experience it’s been nice.” And “I am extremely happy they are amazing. I can't fault them in anyway.” A person told us, “I have always been happy with everyone, they are all lovely ladies, even the manager of the complex where I live commented that they are well spoken and pleasant ladies.”
People and their relatives told us they felt staff were well trained and knew when professional input was needed. A relative commented, “I think staff are well trained, two nights ago they were not happy with the catheter so called the district nurse who came out at midnight. They (staff) are not medics, but they noticed the signs.”
People were supported to remain as independent as possible and were offered choices and control. A relative told us, “I get the clothes ready for [person]. If I haven't done that, they will offer choices.” A person told us, “They sit down and have a chat with me, at the moment they are seeing to my dietary needs. The girls come in and ask me what I want.”
People and their relatives told us staff were usually on time and always stayed for the right amount of time. On occasions when they were running late, they would be contacted. A person commented, “They do let me know if they are going to be late, normally around my evening mealtime. I say to get here when they can.” A relative said, “They come in and they will do everything that's needed, freshen [loved one] up and wash them, they never seem to be rushed to get out of the door.”
People and their relatives spoke highly of the registered manager and said they could go to them with any issues. Comments included, “If I had a problem, I would phone them up and say. Not that I have had a problem.”
