During a routine inspection

We spoke to two people who were staying in the service at the time of the visit. They told us they were consulted about their support plans, and that the staff helped them to achieve their goals. One person showed us their support plan and where they had signed to say they agreed with it. People were involved in regular reviews to discuss achievements and monitor whether any changes to the plan were needed.

We could see that staff had a warm relationship with the people who used the service and the people we spoke with on the day said they liked all the staff.

We saw that the home had a good complaints procedure in place. An easy read version was placed in each person's care file and one person we spoke with told us that the staff had gone through it with them so they knew what to do if they weren't happy with anything.

The environment was well maintained, homely and suitable for the needs of the people who used the service.

During a routine inspection

People who were staying in the service at the time of the visit told us they were consulted about their views of the service and their support plans. One of the people staying at Pooltown Road told us about being a service user representative and how people who use the service had influenced the provision of services.

The people we spoke with said that the support the service intended to provide was agreed with them before admission. They said that any changes in their needs were discussed with them and any changes to their support plan were always agreed before being implemented.

They said that staff were good and supported them well to achieve their goals. They were happy with the care provided and trusted the staff.

The only complaint that people had was that the home was in need of some refurbishment.
