During a routine inspection
There was a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone appeared comfortable in their surroundings. One person said 'This is my home, it's where I like being.'
People we spoke with were able to make decisions about their everyday lives. People said that they were able to make choices about what time they got up, when they went to bed and how they spent their free time.
People were happy with the care that they received. One person said 'I'm pretty well looked after and can do the things I like doing.'
Two visitors told us that they had always been very happy with the care their relative received and they felt involved in all aspects of their care.
The member of staff said they had received appropriate training to carry out their role. They said they were comfortable working on their own and that there was always someone on call to support them if they needed it.
Due to the size and nature of the home the owner was able to monitor the quality of care, and people's views, on an ongoing basis. People who lived at the home told us the owner always checked that they were happy with their care and the way the home was run. One person said 'You can talk to her about anything. She always listens and wants us to be happy.'
