People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected people’s privacy and dignity, treated them as individuals and supported their preferences. People's experience of the service

Updated 26 June 2025

People and relatives were happy with the support they received from Valley Care Sheffield and were complimentary about staff. One relative said, “We are very pleased with the carers, my [family member] feels very safe; they [staff] always introduce themselves and show me their badge. They [staff] are usually consistent with timings if they are running late, they will ring and let me know.” Another relative said, “The carers are always polite and do their best to communicate with [family member]. My [family member] is hard of hearing and can sometimes struggle to understand due to the language barrier.” Relatives were confident staff supported people to maintain their independence and control over their lives. One relative said, “The carers are kind, we have a good laugh and we enjoy their jokes. My loved one enjoys a laugh and we always get a laugh; the carers encourage my loved one to do as much as they can for themselves.” People and relatives were happy with the consistency of the carers and commented they usually have the same carers. One relative said, “We have the same carer which works well most of time. We had issues in the past which were addressed by the company, and we had a new carer which is working well.” People and relatives told us they were involved in their care and had been involved in devising their care plans. One relative said, “We have a care plan in the house which has all the numbers of who to contact. The care plan is reviewed regularly. They [staff] came to the house when my [family member] came out of hospital and ask if there was anything different so they could make any adjustments.” People and relatives knew who the registered manager was and told us they were approachable. One relative said, “I know the manger and I know how to make a complaint; I have no concerns regarding the care my [family member] receives. I would recommend the company cannot think of anything they could improve on and believe the service provides excellent quality of care.”
