CQC register Katherine House to carry out the following legally regulated services here:

Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

  • Mrs Leanne Owen is responsible for these services.
  • Mr Matthew Jonathan Travers is the registered manager for these services at this location.
Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

Condition 1

No later than 14 days after this condition comes into effect, the Registered Provider

must devise and implement effective governance systems which enables it to

oversee the service, identify and address areas for improvement to ensure that

service users receive safe, high quality and person-centered care. This must include,

but is not limited to:

• Risk assessments of the environment

• Accidents and incident monitoring and recording

• Recognizing and responding to allegations of actual and potential abuse

• Service users care plans and risk assessments.

Condition 2

No later than 14 days after this condition comes into effect, the Registered Provider

must undertake a risk assessment of the environment and take steps to mitigate

identified risks and in particular;

a. Identify risks in service users’ bedrooms and take action to mitigate the risks.

b. Identify risks in service users’ bathrooms and take action to mitigate the risks.

c. Identify risks in the environment including unsecured COSHH items and take

action to mitigate the risks.

d. Introduce a system to monitor staff’s compliance on the use of PPE.

Condition 3

No later than 14 days after this condition comes into effect, the Registered Provider

must ensure the systems in place for reporting and recording of incidents is robust

and this must include the following:

a. All behaviour incidents and accidents are recorded in detail to demonstrate the

duration of the incident, any intervention used, staff involved, any injury to

service users or staff and any follow up actions.

b. Establish and implement a system to regularly monitor and review all incidents

and record what action was taken to minimise reoccurrence

Condition 4

No later than 14 days after this condition comes into effect, the Registered Provider

must provide documentary evidence to CQC, quoting RGP1-9409604035 as how

they will ensure that have an effective system to identify, record and report

safeguarding incidents and in particular:

a. Ensure the system in place monitors the effectiveness of safeguarding training

so staff are aware of their responsibilities for recognising, recording and

reporting safeguarding incidents

Condition 5

No later than 14 days after this condition comes into effect, the Registered Provider

must: implement a system for the audits of service users care plans and risk

assessments and ensure information is up to date and accurate and in particular:

a. Identify areas of risk to service users and ensure measures are put in place to

reduce those risks.

b. Ensure each service user has an up to date care plan which details their

specific needs and routines.

Conditions 6

At 28 days after the condition takes effect, and then every first Monday of the

calendar month thereafter, the Registered Provider must have sent to the

Commission an action plan detailing the improvements that your audits have

identified, timescale for completion and who will be responsible for ensuring that the

action required has been taken.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 9 service users at Katherine House.

The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under the regulated activity accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Katherine House.
