During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 9 April 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks. Improvements should be made to ensure these are consistently adhered to.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Mr Jonathan David Schonberg is part of Carholme, a dental group provider. The practice is in Ormskirk and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was ramped access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms.At the time of our inspection, the dental team consisted of 5 dentists, 1 dental therapist, 7 dental nurses (including 1 trainee), 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
During the inspection we spoke with 2 dentists, 4 dental nurses and the receptionist. The area manager, group compliance lead, operations manager and a practice manager from a sister site, were also at the inspection.
Staff feedback forms were shared with the team ahead of the inspection, giving staff an opportunity to confidentially share their views about the practice. We received 7 responses, which were considered as part of the inspection.
