Comments included, “They [staff] are kind, respectful, they treat me lovely,” “Every single one of them are really nice to [person],” “They are lovely, all of the carers are lovely” and, “The people in charge are nice people, they're people who care, they are lovely.”
Treating people as individuals

Staff understood what was important to people and supported them accordingly. Relatives told us staff knew people well and supported them in line with their individual preferences.
Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, support and wellbeing.
People were encouraged to make choices about their care, and we observed staff supporting people in a way which promoted their independence. People’s care plans recorded what they were able to do for themselves and what areas they required support with. One person’s relative told us, “They are trying to get [person] to walk again. It’s incredible.”
Responding to people’s immediate needs
The provider listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress. During the inspection we observed staff acting promptly to ensure people had the support they required without delay.
