During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us that their care and support needs had been agreed with them when the service started. We saw that people had given their consent and were involved in their care. People told us that care staff respected their privacy during personal care routines. The care plans we looked at contained care plans that were personalised and included people's preferences.

We found that people received calls at the time they were expected. People said that staff took their time and did not rush when delivering their care. One person told us 'Care staff are nice and very polite.' However, people who used the service told us that if care staff were going to be late they were not always told in advance.

People told us they usually had the same staff deliver their care who were knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. They told us the staff were very capable of looking after them or their relative. People we spoke with and their relatives said they were happy with the care staff and they were very nice.

People who used the service told us they had been given information about complaints or that they knew how to make a complaint. People and their relatives we spoke with told us they had never had to make a complaint and were happy with the care they received. We saw that complaints were taken seriously and any action taken following complaints had been documented.

During a routine inspection

People who receive personal care from the agency were pleased with the

support they receive. People told us that the agency carried out an assessment before the service started and that they have a copy of the care and support plan in their home. They confirmed that they were involved in developing their care plans. We saw and heard from people that reviews are undertaken regularly.

People told us that their care workers were kind and treated them with respect. One person commented 'my care worker always asks me how I am and treats me as a person, not as someone to be ticked off their list.'

People felt confident that their concerns would be put right quickly if they had any. They said they did not feel rushed by their care worker and told us that they stay for the right amount of time.

A relative of one of the people we visited commented, 'the agency is excellent, I have peace of mind and trust the care workers.' Another relative told us, 'They are all lovely, I can't fault them.'

Staff spoken with told us that they knew what to do to keep people safe and would have no hesitation reporting poor practice to the senior staff and managers.
