During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with three members of staff and three people who used the service and we observed staff supporting people who used the service. We made observations throughout the visit and saw people being offered choices as to how they wanted to use their time.

We saw people being addressed in a respectful manner. We looked at peoples individual recovery plans and saw that the information recorded enabled staff to plan and deliver the required level of care and support on an individual basis.

We saw that regular audits of the service were completed by the provider ensuring that people who used the service benefit from a service that monitors the quality of care that people received.

Staff told us that they had received regular training and that they felt that they were supported to carry out their roles and meet the needs of people who used the service.

A person who was using the service stated that "I am now ready to move on thanks to the staff here."

During a routine inspection

We spoke to people who use the service and they told us that they like living at the home and said that the staff were kind. They said that staff treat them very well and that there was always someone around to help. People said they are happy with the care they received, that staff helped them to do things and that they are assisted in the way they prefer.

People said they were consulted about all aspects of their daily life and said they knew they had a plan of care and were aware of its contents. All of the people we spoke with knew they had a keyworker (this is a named member of staff who gives one to one support) and knew who this person was.

People said that they were given choice in their day to day lives and confirmed that they had a key to the front door as well as to their individual bedrooms. People said that they could come and go as they pleased and said that they signed in and out of the home so staff knew who was in the home at any time

Staff said that they always respect people's wishes and said that people were treated with dignity and respect at all times.
