During an inspection looking at part of the service

People, with whom we spoke, told us, that they were happy living at The White House and had no concerns. People confirmed they were generally happy with the care and support they received. They also told us that they felt able to raise concerns and knew who to talk to. One relative told us that they were confident that any complaints and/or concerns would be listened to and acted on.

Most people we spoke with said that they were happy that the home manages their medicines on their behalf. However one person we spoke with said they had expressed a wish to look after their own medicines and that "they've just ignored it".

During an inspection in response to concerns

As there were three social workers on site at the time of our review of compliance and we were aware that people who use the service had been involved in a number of interviews recently, we limited our discussions with them so as to show sensitivity and respect to people's needs. The manager told us that people who use the service had found the number of people visiting the home and the process of discussions with them very difficult.

People told us they were 'alright' and that they liked living at The White House. They also told us that the meals were nice and more staff seemed to be available at the home.
