Updated 24 July 2025
We carried out this inspection from 13 August 2025 to 28 August 2025. We inspected the service after receiving concerns in relation to safeguarding and safe care and treatment. We reviewed 17 quality statements. At the last inspection we found a breach of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment around the management of medicines and environmental concerns. During this inspection, we found enough improvement had been made and the provider was no longer in breach of safe care and treatment in relation to the environment; However, although improvements had been made, we found a continued breach of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment in relation to the management of medicines.
The service is a care home which also provides nursing care for up to a maximum of 46 older people, some of whom live with dementia. At the time of our inspection there were 15 people using the service.
Medicines were not managed safely, for example, administration records did not always contain sufficient information to guide staff to give medicines as prescribed.
Care plans and risk assessments contained some contradictory information which meant staff did not always have clear guidance on how to support people safely.
There were enough staff who were recruited in line with the provider’s policy, to support people safely.
Staff received training to raise and respond to safeguarding concerns both internally and to external agencies. The service was clean and well maintained.
Staff ensured people’s care and support met individual needs and preferences. There was a dedicated management and senior leadership team who led the service. Staff were able to raise concerns and told us managers were approachable and supportive.
