Our view of the service
Date of assessment:16 October 2025 to 17 October 2025.Bradley Apartments is a care home providing personal care for a maximum of 14 adults who may have learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions. At the time of the assessment there were 9 people receiving care and support.
We completed a comprehensive assessment, assessing all the quality statements. This was to follow up on actions from the last inspection in 2022. At the last inspection the provider was rated requires improvement and found to be in breach of the legal regulations related to good governance, safe care and treatment, need for consent and safeguarding. At this assessment we found the service had improved and were no longer in breach of requirements.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider was able to demonstrate how they were meeting the underpinning principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture’.
Governance structures included regular audit reviews and open communication channels with people, relatives and staff. Managers were accessible and engaged. They promoted a culture of openness and were responsive to feedback.
People were protected from the risks of abuse and staff were trusted to keep them safe. Staff had received training in how to safeguard people.
Staff treated people as individuals offering choice and supporting independence. Peoples protected characteristics were considered and staff understood individual preferences and listened to people. We observed staff had positive relationships with people and supported them in a kind and caring manner.
The environment was generally clean and welcoming. People appeared comfortable in their apartments. The provider was going through a period of redecoration in the communal areas, but people had their bedrooms decorated to their choosing.
