During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people who used the service or their relatives. Comments included: "The carers come on time." "They are very respectful." "I am happy X is in safe hands." "X is a lovely lady and very trustworthy." "They would do more than they should if I let them." "We have a laugh."

We spent time speaking with the training and development manager, care coordinators, care workers and examining records. We looked at how the agency managed complaints and saw that they kept a record of all complaints and concerns.

We looked at a sample of care plans and found they contained an assessment of the persons care needs and clear guidance for care workers.

We looked at how the agency monitored the quality of the service they provided. We saw completed questionnaires from people who used the agency.

We looked at maintenence records that showed service contracts were in place for equipment in the office such as the training hoist, photocopier, kitchen equipment and computers.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with people who used the service and their comments included: 'Of course I feel safe', 'they do what is expected', 'I signed my care plan', 'I feel respected.' 'They arrive at different times at weekends.' 'If I had a complaint I would speak to the manager.' 'On the whole I am very satisfied.' 'I have got some good carers X in the morning and Y at tea, Z at weekends.' 'Very happy they are very good', 'They always come when expected I can't remember them ever being late', 'I have a care plan on the couch and they write in it every time they come', 'I signed the care plan to say I agreed to it', 'They log in with the phone when they arrive and when they leave', 'They are never rude or disrespectful I have no complaints they are very good', 'They help me to get dressed and washed.' We asked if staff maintained dignity whilst assisting with personal care tasks. 'Yes they help me to keep my dignity and show respect I am really happy.' We asked if staff made sure they were safe. 'They always lock the door so I feel safe', 'I am quite happy with everything they do.'
