Date of Assessment: 24 June to 08 July 2026. Seven Arches Nursing Home is a nursing home providing personal and nursing care for up to 30 people aged 65 and over. At the time of the inspection, 30 people were living at the service. This focused inspection was undertaken to assess the provider’s progress in addressing previous enforcement concerns and to review improvements in relation to the Safe and Well-led key questions. At the last inspection, the provider was in breach of regulations relating to Safe Care and Treatment and Good Governance. During this inspection, we found the provider had taken appropriate action to address the concerns identified. Sufficient improvements had been made, the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations, and the required level of compliance had been achieved.
Staff understood their responsibilities for keeping people safe and knew how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns. There were sufficient numbers of safely recruited staff available to provide effective support. Staff had access to the training and skills required to support people safely and meet their needs. Medicines were administered as prescribed and managed safely. Although risks were generally identified and mitigated, we found some inconsistencies in risk assessments within care plans. Further work was needed to ensure all aspects of care planning accurately reflected people's current risks and support needs. Monitoring records demonstrated improvement and showed that oversight arrangements were becoming more effective.
The provider’s quality assurance systems were generally effective and helped ensure care was delivered safely and in accordance with people’s needs and legal requirements. However, some checks and audits were not fully robust and needed strengthening to consistently identify and address areas requiring improvement.
