During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Assessment: 14 May 2025 to 12 June 2025. Cranbrook Medical Practice is an NHS GP practice in Devon which delivers services to approximately 5,900 people under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles state that 96% of people registered at this practice are White, 1.6% are mixed, 1.5% are Asian, 0.4% are Black and 0.5% are of other ethnicities. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 8th decile (8 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. We assessed all quality statements across safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions.
At this assessment, we found the service understood their patient population and were passionate in providing safe and effective care. The service reviewed and responded to feedback and continues to improve its systems and processes. Although we identified gaps in governance and findings from remote clinical searches, the practice had developed action plans to address them. However, the processes had to be embedded into the practice’s system.
