During an assessment under our new approach

The service was previously inspected in April 2022 and was rated good in safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. Following information of concern, a focused unannounced assessment was carried out under the single assessment framework. We assessed the provider against three quality statements in the safe domain, one in effective and two in well led and we saw that the evidence showed a good standard of care overall. However, we found some actions taken relating to the management of risk, were not timely. There were no regulatory breaches identified following this visit. We saw: • People and staff were encouraged and supported to raise concerns, they felt confident that they would be treated with compassion and understanding, and would not be blamed, or treated negatively if they did so. • Raising concerns helped to proactively identify and manage risks before safety events happened. • Incidents and complaints were appropriately investigated and reported. • Lessons were learned from safety incidents or complaints, resulting in changes that improved care for others. • People were supported to understand safeguarding, what being safe means to them, and how to raise concerns when they don’t feel safe, or they have concerns about the safety of other people. • Care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with legislation and evidence based good practice and standards. • The provider had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. The provider used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. However, some actions taken were not always timely, when managing risk.
