Eden Manor Care Home is a care home providing accommodation and personal care to older people including some people living with dementia. The service could accommodate up to 80 people, at the time of the assessment there were 68 people living at the service.

This was the first assessment of this service which was carried out due to the length of time since the service was registered. The assessment commenced on 26 January 2026 and concluded on 26 February 2026, we visited the service on 26 and 27 January 2026.

The service had effective systems in place to protect people from avoidable harm and manage risk well. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and acted appropriately to prevent neglect, discrimination and abuse. Risk assessments were person‑centred and regularly reviewed. The environment was clean and well maintained. Although medicines management was largely safe, some shortfalls were identified in relation to minimum dose intervals and reporting delays. The registered manager responded promptly, taking immediate action to ensure people received medicines correctly.

People received effective, evidence‑based care delivered by staff who understood their needs. Assessments were thorough, and care plans were regularly updated with input from people, relatives and healthcare professionals. Staff worked well in teams and across services, ensuring continuity of care. People were supported to follow specialist diets, engage in appropriate exercise, and manage long‑term conditions appropriately.

The culture of the service was caring, inclusive and person‑centred. Staff treated people as individuals, recognising their preferences, identities and backgrounds. People were supported to make choices about their daily lives and maintain independence wherever possible. There were opportunities for people, relatives and staff to provide feedback through meetings and other channels.

The management team were committed to ongoing improvement. Leaders were approachable, supportive and knowledgeable, promoting a positive culture based on respect, equality and collaboration. Governance systems were effective, with routine audits and incident reviews used to drive improvements. The provider shared learning across services and worked closely with community partners to enhance people’s experiences

One person said, “I please myself when I go to bed or when I get up, after tea I come back in here (bedroom) and I watch the telly or have a snooze. We used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection tool (SOFI) to observe care from the person’s perspective, this helps us understand how care is received by people unable to tell us themselves.
