During a routine inspection

Currently one person has been accommodated at St Martins Rest Home.

We spoke with this person. They told us about the lifestyle they have enjoyed. This has included spending time in the community with their own friends and friends and family of the provider. They also told us about holidays they have spent with the provider and trips to the cinema and to concerts.

We were informed by the provider that this person is treated as part of the provider's own family.

During a routine inspection

A person told us that he/she is treated well and can exercise independence and choice in activities, such as going out, cooking and personal support. We were told that the home supports people to attend other leisure pursuits such as a recent holiday and trips to the cinema. A person told us that he/she was able to pursue his/her own hobbies and interests, which included watching movie DVDs and art work.

A person told us that he/she likes the environment, which affords a degree of independence, although the person pointed out that the window in his/her bedroom was blocked out and that he/she kept hitting his/her head on the sloping ceiling.
