People spoke with us about the care they received in the Farringford Care Home. Comments included, 'The care is spot on. Two members of staff take me to be weighed,' 'They will go out of their way to give me attention. You don't seem to have to wait for anything,' and 'It's very good here. I think it is lovely. I do different things: pencil, crayoning and colouring activity. I have family who visit me.' Relatives also told us about the care provided by the service. One relative said, 'They get looked after all right. The care is all right. They get medical care too. The district nurse comes in and we get good service from the doctors and district nurses.' Another relative said, 'Father is happy here. They do take care of him. They have been very good with dad. They see to him 20 hours a day. We are involved in reviews of care. The main thing is they are cared for.'
Some people who used the service told us they felt there were enough staff at the Farringford Care Home although not everyone we spoke with agreed. One person said, 'I think there are sufficient staff. The staff are good people as well.' Relatives also spoke with us about the staffing arrangements in the service. Comments included, 'We find the staff OK. They probably need more staff. At times when they are busy they are overstretched,' 'They don't always have enough staff' and 'I can't fault any of the staff.'
People we spoke with said they did not have any complaints about the service. Comments included, 'I would know what to do if I had a complaint,' 'The management are very friendly to me,' and 'I have no complaints.' One relative said, 'There is a monthly relatives meeting. They listen, and some things have been done. With complaints, if it's smaller things its been dealt with quickly.' Another relative told us, 'I don't go to the resident and relatives meeting but I do have opportunity to go. If I had a complaint I would make it known in the office. I have completed surveys but can't remember when.'
