During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who use the service. They said they were well looked after and they were happy with the care and support they received. We observed that people were appropriately dressed in line with their preferences as recorded in their care records.

Both the people we spoke with said they felt 'safe'. One person said they would speak to the staff to raise any concerns they had.

During a routine inspection

People told us that their privacy, dignity and independence is maintained and that the staff treated them with dignity and respect. One person said 'I could not be looked after any better'. People said the care staff supported them in all aspects of daily living. Another person said 'you're as safe as houses here'. People reported that they were able to give feedback on the quality of the service that they received.

However we found that people's needs were not always clearly recorded and some records were not up to date. We also found that not all staff had undertaken training required for their role and the system in place for the assessing and monitoring of the quality of the service was not always effective in identifying shortfalls within the service.
