During an inspection looking at part of the service

We undertook a compliance review on this agency on the 23 Febuary 2011 . Following this review we identified a minor concern for safeguarding people who use services from abuse, and the agency had an improvement action to update its policy on safeguarding vulnerable adults. This follow up review was carried out to assess if the agency had updated this policy in line with national and local guidance. We did not speak to any people who use the service for this follow up review.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were very happy with the personal care service provided by Lyme Care. Generally they received care from the same member of staff which helped build rapport and trust with that individual. People also told us that the agency was accessible and approachable.

Comments from people who use the service included: 'they go out of their way and do more than they are asked to. They are very generous with their time' and 'I would recommend them to anyone'. Some comments from people's relative's were: 'the agency is very good at communications and will always contact me if there are any problems or concerns' and 'I only need to visit once a fortnight because of the confidence I have in Lyme Care'.
