Santhem Care provides personal care and support to people who require assistance in their own homes. This is a domiciliary care service. At the time of our assessment, 1 person was receiving a regulated activity. A further 4 people were supported with the administration of their medicines; however, CQC only inspects services where people receive personal care. Personal care includes support with tasks such as personal hygiene and eating. Where this is provided, we also consider any wider social care support delivered by the service.
This was the first assessment of the service since they were registered with CQC on 2 August 2022.
The service was delivering care in line with expected standards, with systems in place to support quality and consistency. Processes were in place to help protect the person from harm and manage risks appropriately.
Care was assessed and reviewed regularly to ensure it continued to meet changing needs. Staff worked in a respectful and person-centred way, supporting independence and choice.
Care was organised to reflect individual needs, with regular reviews and communication supporting adjustments over time.
Governance and oversight arrangements were in place, including audits and management support, which helped monitor quality and drive improvement. While these systems were generally effective, there were some opportunities to strengthen consistency across the service.
Overall, the service demonstrated a clear commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of care.
