During a routine inspection
We saw people's needs were assessed and regularly reviewed. All the people we spoke with made positive comments about the service their relative received. One person told us 'I'd recommend them'.
We saw the provider worked with other professionals involved in the care of people who used the service. The people we spoke with told us when their relative had been unwell, staff had sought appropriate medical attention.
We saw there was a safeguarding policy in place and evidence that safeguarding incidents had been handled appropriately by the provider. Care staff showed an understanding of safeguarding issues and how to take action if they were concerned. The people we spoke with told us their relatives were treated with dignity and respect.
The provider had an infection control policy in place and infection control measures were included in the way care was provided by care staff. Staff had access to the equipment they needed.
'Spot checks' were carried out by the Manager to monitor the quality of the care provided by care staff and feedback was regularly sought from people who used the service. There was a complaints policy in place for people who used the service and a whistle-blowing policy for care staff to follow if they had concerns about the service provided. The people we spoke with told us that communication with the provider was good.
