During a routine inspection

We visited two people in their own homes who were receiving this service. And spoke with a further six people over the telephone. The majority of people we spoke with were complimentary about the service. They told us they had a copy of their care plan and information about the service. However, some people did not always know which care worker would be visiting them. Three people told us that sometimes their care worker had not turned up. One person told us that this had happened quite recently and often over a weekend and that no-one had contacted them to let them know. Other people commented that their care worker or someone from the office would phone them if they knew they were going to be late.

People told us that the staff were polite. One person commented 'I've had some good girls', other people said

'I'm quite happy with them. They are perfectly good carers',

'I have no complaints whatsoever'and

'She (the care worker) is very keen and treats me with respect and has a very nice manner. I wouldn't put up with it otherwise'.

A relative told us 'They talk to her when providing her care which is really important'. They said 'My carers are good. I wouldn't change them for anything'.

Some people told us that someone had phoned them from the office to ask them questions about the service.

People told us that they had the contact number for the office and would make a complaint if they were not happy. They said 'I would phone Mandy (the manager) if I was not happy'.
