Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home is a care home that can accommodate for up to 75 people. They provide personal and nursing care for older people, some of whom are living with dementia. At the time of our assessment there were 61 people living at the service.

We told the provider to make improvements. At this assessment we found improvements had been made and service was no longer in breach of these regulations. The service has received an overall rating of ‘Good’.
At the time of this assessment the home manager had been in post for 6 weeks. They were in the process of applying to register with the CQC to become the registered manager for the service. They were being supported by a mentor and senior managers.
We spoke with the home manager, the home manager’s mentor and the regional manager. We also spoke with 9 staff, the chef, an activities coordinator and the maintenance person. We also spoke with a visiting health care professional.
People were protected from risk of abuse and risks to people were managed well. The provider followed safe recruitment practices. There were enough staff to support people to meet their needs. People were treated with dignity and respect. People had access to health care professionals when they needed them, and they received their medicines when needed. People’s care was regularly reviewed to ensure this remained effective.
