Responding to people’s immediate needs
The provider listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress.
We found improvements had been made since our last inspection in October 2025. For example, during this inspection, we observed call bells were being answered promptly and staff responding to people’s immediate needs throughout the day. We observed people had access to call bells or if required pendants were used. The provider had a new call bell panel installed recently and we reviewed the call bell response times records which identified staff responded promptly.
Staff could recognise and understood when people were showing signs of distress or frustration and there was information in care plans about how to respond. This meant they were able to quickly recognise when someone needed support or when their needs had changed.
Feedback we received from people and relatives were positive. One relative told us, “When I have been present at the care home and [family member] or I have accidentally touch the safety mat staff have responded in good time.”
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
We did not look at Workforce wellbeing and enablement during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
