Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.

Staff understood their responsibilities in ensuring people’s human rights were upheld and respected. Staff told us they hadn’t had to tackle any discrimination before but explained they had good relationships with other professionals and were confident any barriers could be overcome to ensure people had equitable experiences.

Staff understood their responsibility to advocate for people when required. For example, a staff member told us they had worked with other services and a person’s relative to source a specialised wheelchair as a person’s existing one was preventing them from taking part in activities and engaging with others. The personalised wheelchair meant the person was now able to engage in activities and use the minibus.
