During a routine inspection

We spoke with a range of people about the service. They included the deputy manager, staff and people who used the service. We also had responses from external agencies including social services, in order to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced.

People told us they could express their views and were involved in decision making about their treatment and support. They told us they felt listened to when discussing their needs and what they hoped to achieve from the treatment programme.

During our inspection we looked at care and staff recruitment records. We did this to confirm people were being well supported and staff members had been recruited properly.

We spoke with Lancashire county council contracts monitoring department and they had no issues or concerns with the service.

Responses we received were positive in the way the service was run in the best interest of the people who were receiving the treatment, guidance and support to return to community living. Comments included,

'I feel they have helped me a lot since attending the support sessions.'

'I was consulted and agreed to the treatment programme before we started.'

'The counsellors have been brilliant.'

'A very professional service with people who know what they are doing. They have given me a lot of support and helped to build my confidence up.'

During a routine inspection

There were no people who use the service available to talk to during our visit. However We spoke to staff and the manager, we also received comments from other professional agencies such as social services. All comments were positive in the way the service is run and supports people receiving care and treatment throughout their programme.

Responses we received were all good and reflected how the service is run in the

best interest of the people who are receiving the treatment, guidance and support to return to community living.

Staff spoken to had a good awareness of individual care and support people required to help them achieve their identified goals. Staff realise the importance of treating people who use the service with respect. We saw evidence of this from good record keeping, talking to the manager and discussion with staff. Comments from the staff and manager included, "It is essential to build up self esteem of the person and treat them with respect despite any problems they have."

We spoke to Lancashire county council contracts monitoring department and they have

no issues with the service and only received positive comments of how the service operates.
