During an inspection looking at part of the service

We spoke with three people using the service and their family carers. They told us they were happy with the service they received from Dimak. They said the carer workers usually arrived on time and they had not missed any visits. One person told us, "I haven't had a bad carer." Another person said that the carers were kind and they were very, very happy with the care. One of the people with whom we spoke told us that they were satisfied with the way staff helped them with their medication. Two people needed moving and handling equipment and told us that staff were able to use the equipment they had.

During an inspection in response to concerns

We spoke to four people who use the service and four family carers. People using the service and their families were satisfied with the overall care they received. They made some positive comments about their care workers. We were told that staff were, "Polite and respectful". Another person told us that staff were always considerate and did not rush them.

None of the people we spoke with needed help to take their medicines so were unable to comment on this area.

People had mixed views about the training staff had. One person told us, "They all seem to know what to do, they do not always have to ask." However, a family carer said that the newer staff did not seem to be so well trained. Two people said that not all staff knew how to use a hoist, which is equipment needed to assist some people to move from their bed to a chair.
