Good

Updated 24 March 2026

This was the first assessment of the service, carried out from 27 March to 8 April 2026 as part of routine inspection activity. Rolling Hearts Care Ltd is a domiciliary care agency providing support to people living in their own homes, including older people and people with physical and mental health needs. At the time of the assessment, 4 people were using the service.

People received safe, effective, compassionate and person‑centred care that supported positive outcomes. Care was delivered by a small and consistent staff team, which helped build trusting relationships and supported continuity, particularly for people living with dementia or receiving end‑of‑life care. People and their relatives spoke positively about staff kindness, patience and responsiveness, and said they felt confident staff would act promptly if concerns arose.

There were effective systems to assess needs, manage risks and review care. Care plans were personalised, regularly reviewed and reflected people’s preferences, cultural and religious needs, and family involvement. Staff worked well with health and social care professionals to support coordinated care and timely responses to changes in people’s health. Outcomes included improved confidence with mobility, emotional reassurance and comfort at the end of life.

Managers promoted an open, supportive culture focused on learning and improvement. Governance arrangements, including audits, supervision, spot checks and incident review, provided oversight of quality and safety. These systems helped identify areas for development and supported continuous improvement.

People's experience of the service

Updated 24 March 2026

Relatives spoke positively about their experience of care. Families consistently described staff as kind, gentle, and patient, and said carers took time to understand people’s needs and routines. A relative told us that staff “never rush” and always work at the person’s pace, which helped reduce distress and anxiety. Another relative said carers were, “Calm and reassuring, even when things are difficult.”

Relatives described feeling confident in staff’s ability to keep their family members safe. They said carers were observant and would act quickly if something changed. A relative explained when staff noticed a change in their relative’s condition, they were informed immediately and appropriate action was taken, which reassured them that staff did not ignore or minimise concerns.

Families valued the continuity of care, particularly for people living with dementia or receiving end‑of‑life care. Seeing familiar carers helped people feel settled and supported. A relative said their family member recognised care workers’ voices and appeared calmer when the same staff attended regularly.

Families spoke positively about staff understanding dietary requirements, faith practices, and personal routines, and said this helped their relatives feel comfortable and respected in their own homes.

Families also described the service as approachable and responsive. They said concerns were listened to and addressed without defensiveness, and changes were made when needed. A relative told us that when they raised an issue, it was “sorted straight away” and communication remained open.
