During an assessment under our new approach

Fission Care Ltd is a domiciliary (Care at home) service that was first registered with CQC in August 2022. At the time of our assessment, commenced on 17 April 2026, the service was providing care and support to two people, one in their own home, and another receiving one to one support whilst living in a registered care home.

This was the first assessment of the service since they were registered with CQC. Following this assessment, we have rated the service Good.

This assessment took place between 17April and 8 May 2026. The service is a care at home service currently providing support to adults of all ages living with physical disabilities. Theproviderhad a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. There had been no significant incidents since the service began to operate. The manager explained the action they would take to investigate incidents if these occurred. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment metpeople’sneeds, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. The manager made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes to their health and care needs.

The performance of the service and the quality of the support that was provided was positively commented upon by people whose relatives were receiving care, and the care staff team.

Day to day direct care and support was managed effectively. The provider and care staff team were able to demonstrate their person-centred values towards the people they were supporting.

There were safe policies and procedures in place to manage medicines, provide safe care for people and to respond to any emerging events or concern. The provider had effective systems in place to keep the performance of the service under review and to monitor emerging themes, such as changes to peoples’ circumstances and care needs.
