We used telephone interviews and home visits to people who used the service and to their main carers (a relative or friends).

We visited four people in their homes and spoke to six people over the telephone. They told us that they were very happy with the care and support they received. We asked people about the way they were treated by staff when they visited. Everybody spoken with said they felt respected and that staff treated them politely and with dignity. One person spoken with told us, 'I feel really well cared for they know all my likes and dislikes. They always do what has been agreed and in such a friendly and happy way.' Another person told us, 'I know all the girls now, they are always so cheerful. I have my favourites but they all know what needs doing'.

One person told us, 'My regular care worker is on holiday so she doesn't know me that well but they always ask and they always do things the way I want'.

One relative told us, 'They are all very good I have got to know them all over the years and they look after mum very well, in fact she always sings their praises to me'. Another relative told us, 'I was reluctant at first as it meant they were taking away my job, but it has been such a relief, they all care and it means I can get on with other things, we would never go back to how it was'.
