During a routine inspection

People receiving a service from The Chanters were complimentary about the service.

People we talked to told us that they were involved in decisions about their care and supported to remain independent.

People said:

'They don't make me do anything, we talk about things. I go to bed and get up when I'm ready- I go to bed at about 10 O'clock.'

People we talked to at The Chanters told us that they felt that the service always met their care and welfare needs.

People said:

'Yes my relative has needed a hospital admission and this was dealt with appropriately, they dealt with the matter very professionally and described the options to us because we were visiting.'

People using the service at the Chanters told us that they liked the food provided and that they had plenty of choice.

'Yes I enjoy the meals. We're usually offered tea and biscuits in between meals. They will offer and find something else if we change our minds. We usually have choice between two things, they ask the day before we get a choice for the later meal.'

People told us that they felt secure and safe from harm while living at The Chanters.

They said:

'I don't feel threatened by anyone in the home.'

People we talked to told us that they liked the staff and that the staff were competent, they did notice that at times staff appeared rushed.

People said:

'I love it staff are nice if you ring they'll come I try and do as much myself the staff are friendly.'

'I'm satisfied with things but I think they look as though they're dashing about sometimes.'
