We were informed that plans had been made to close the home in March 2013. The Local Authority who commissions care at Halliday Square planned to relocate people to services within The London Borough of Westminster. A transition plan was in place for each person and in some instances staff at Halliday Square would continue working with people at their new home.

People who use the service were involved in making decisions and daily choices. Each person had recently had their care needs assessed for the impeding move and had an up to date care plan in place.

Policies and procedures were in place to safeguard vulnerable adults and staff had received training in the protection of vulnerable adults.

Staff received regular training to provide them with the skills and knowledge to work with people effectively. Staff had not received one to one supervision with a line manager during 2012.

The National Autistic Society had a process in place for obtaining peoples views and checking quality and safety in the home. A complaints procedure was available for people who use the service and their relatives.

People told us that they liked living at the home most of the time. They said that they could speak with staff if they were worried about anything, and staff listened to them. People confirmed that they liked the food and were involved in choosing what they wanted to eat. People told us that they take part in activities that they enjoy, and go on outings regularly.
