All Inspections

23 November 2013

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we saw that the home had policies and procedures in place that ensured people's needs and wishes were assessed and recorded prior to them receiving care.

People's needs were recorded in a plan of care that was kept under regular review. Risks to people's safety were assessed and plans to reduce and monitor risks to people using the service and others were recorded.

Staff received safeguarding training and those we spoke with were aware of how and when to report any concerns.

We saw there were processes in place to monitor accidents and incidents. Records we reviewed showed us they had been recorded and actioned appropriately and in a timely manner.

We looked at the complaints process and saw there had been few complaints over the past twelve months. Complaints received had been recorded in detail and actioned appropriately. We saw that relevant policies and procedures were in place and up to date and were presented in written and easy read format.

During our inspection we observed people being treated respectfully and being offered choices. On the day of our visit people were being accompanied out in to the community to do their Christmas shopping.

People we spoke with told us they "really like it here" and "the staff are all lovely, they take me out".
