During a routine inspection

We met three of the four people who live at the home. The other person was away during the inspection.

People said they were treated well by staff and they were able to be independent.

One person told us she felt she was treated with respect at this home and two said they were able to go out independently when they wished. Two of the three people told us that they felt settled in the home and wanted to stay there.

All three said they were satisfied with the care and their daily lives.

One person told us she would not change anything. Another said she felt settled there and was able to go out independently. This person said, 'This is my home and I am staying here.' This person felt she had a good quality of life taking part in activities of her choice.

Another person also said she was able to go out independently, had made progress since living at the home and was able to do more since living here. She explained how she had become more independent and confident. She was able to tell us her daily activities. The manager said that one person attends art classes in the home with a visiting artist every week. One person cooks regularly in the home which is positive. Two of the three people said they felt this was their home and they wanted to stay here. All three had meaningful activities to do and told us their own personal interests and hobbies and said they got on well with each other.

We asked each person in private if they felt safe in this home. All three said they did feel safe.

We discussed medication with one person living at the home. This person told us they self administered their medication and showed us that the doses had been prepared by the local pharmacy for them to take.

People in the home told us that they like the staff. They said staff were 'helpful' and one said they treated her with respect. Another said she had a very good relationship with Mrs Joannides and with the manager, Chris Joannides.

People told us that they felt settled in the home and wanted to stay there.
