All Inspections

12 November 2012

During a routine inspection

In June 2012 we carried out an inspection of Greville Elderly People's Home( EPH) and we identified where the service needed to make improvements to achieve compliance. Following the review the provider told us about the changes they intended to make. The purpose of this inspection was to check on those improvements. The area we were concerned about was:

Outcome 14 Supporting Workers.

Outcome 8 Cleanliness and infection Control.

For this inspection we did not involve people using the service. We visited the home on 12 November 2012 to check evidence of how they have ensured that they were meeting the regulation for this outcome.

13 June 2012

During an inspection in response to concerns

We carried out this review because concerns had been raised about infection control in the home and the levels of staffing.

We found there were not systems in place to ensure that people were protected against the identifiable risks of acquiring an infection. However, we found there were suitable numbers of staff to meet the needs of the residents within the home.

We found that although staff received regular supervision meetings and felt supported in their role, their training was not up to date in a number of areas.

We found that people were treated with respect and that they enjoyed living in the home. One person described the home as their 'holiday home' and said they really liked it. This person said the staff were very good and helped them out when they needed it. We also saw that care was delivered in a supportive manner.

We found that care plans were detailed and contained assessments of risks involved in delivering care and assessments of each individual person's needs.
