Date of inspection: 18 June to 01 July 2025. Apex Prime Care – Nightingale Lodge is an extra care service providing support to 34 older people living in their own homes within a large purpose-built shared building. Not everyone who used the service were receiving a regulated activity. Those that were had the regulated activity of personal care. Personal care is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating.

People were truly respected and valued as individuals; and empowered as partners in their care in an exceptional service.Staff assessed and mitigated risks and care plans guided safe practice. People were supported to have choice and control and were involved in planning their care. Medicines were managed safely. Staff knew people well and received appropriate training and support. There were enough staff to meet people's needs. Staff were kind, caring and had a good understanding of how to meet people’s needs and went out of their way to improve people’s wellbeing. There was a system in place to enable people to express any concerns or complaints they may have. Governance systems were in place, the provider was keen to learn and to continue to improve the service. Management were very passionate about the service and making improvements to people’s wellbeing and had set up activities for everyone to enjoy and feel part of the community.

People were supported to live safely and comfortably in their own homes. People we spoke with were very positive about the quality of their care and treatment. People told us they enjoyed living at Nightingale Lodge, using the service and felt safe and happy with the care they received. People felt there was enough staff to support them, they were treated with respect and dignity and felt they could raise concerns. People told us they were listened to and consulted when planning and agreeing how their care and support should be provided. People and their relatives said they would recommend the service. We received very high praise about the staff at the service especially the management who everyone told us went above and beyond and made the service a real community.
