Date of Assessment: 03 to 12 June 2025.
This assessment was completed to check necessary improvements had been made to address the issues identified during our previous assessment. Following that assessment, we took enforcement action to address breaches of the regulations relating to person centred care, safeguarding, governance and staffing.
We assessed all quality statements under 2 key questions; Safe and Well-led. The service is a care home providing support for to up to 30 predominantly older people. At the time of our assessment 14 people were using the service.
At this assessment we found the service had significantly improved and all breaches of the regulation had been addressed.
People were now protected from abuse and staff provided appropriate care that met people’s needs. The provider’s policies in relation to restraint had been updated and staff were no longer using unplanned restraint.
Although occupancy levels had reduced since our last assessment, night staffing levels had been increased. This meant the service was overstaffed giving staff time to spend with people on an individual basis.
The provider had made significant changes to governance systems to drive improvement in performance and people’s safety. Senior managers visited the service regularly and staff now had confidence any safety concerns they reported would be addressed.
Staff were now treated fairly and worked effectively as a team to meet people’s needs. Where issues impacted on staff morale they were promptly addressed. The provider’s disciplinary processes were effective.
