During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people using the service, and the relative of one person. They all reported that they were happy with the level of care provided by Hartfields -Direct Care and Support. They told us, "It's very good. I got friendly with all the staff." "They are marvellous." They also told us that they were involved in the care planning process. One person told us, 'They come from time to time and go through the care plan, and I sign it to say I agree to it. If anything crops up in between they will tailor the care to my needs.'

The people who used the service we spoke with also told us how the service had helped them maintain and improve their level of independence. One person said, "They encourage me to be independent, but if I can't do it they will help. It is better to be supported to be independent".

We found that people's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. We also found that the agency cooperated with other agencies to ensure that people's health, safety and welfare was protected.
