Reports

Inspection carried out on 11 January 2012

During a routine inspection

People who use the service told us the staff were lovely, and could not do enough for them. People said they were well cared for and nothing was too much trouble.

Relatives said, staff contacted them should there be concerns about their relative and also kept them informed.

Relatives and people told us that there were not always activities taking place. Other people said that entertainers visited regularly, and some people said that although they were encouraged to join in with activities, the staff respected their privacy as they did not always wish to join in.

Staff were seen to respect people’s wishes, and people told us that staff respect their privacy, dignity and independence.

People told us they were happy living at the home. They did not have cause to complain however, they were confident if they had a complaint it would be dealt with properly. They were also aware of the complaints procedure and who they should speak with if they were not happy.

People told us there were always staff about if they needed them. Two people who chose to stay in their bedrooms said that should they need staff assistance, they would ring the call bell and would not have to wait too long before someone came.

In the main lounges a staff presence was seen and this is to ensure people’s needs are met and they are kept safe.
