Date of assessment: 14 April to 22 June 2026. Cheshire Springs is a residential care home providing nursing and personal care for a maximum of 20 people. At the time of our assessment, 18 people were living at the service, many of whom were living with a mental health condition and/or had complex care needs.
People received outstanding care from a highly skilled and motivated staff team who knew them exceptionally well. Staff worked exceptionally well as a team and felt fully supported by the leadership. Staff were valued and recognised by the provider.
Staff were knowledgeable and received the training they needed to support people safely and effectively. People who used the service were involved in the recruitment, induction and training of staff.
People were involved in and consulted about all aspects of their care. Detailed assessments were undertaken when people moved into the service and highly personalised care plans were developed which guided staff to deliver high-quality person-centred support.
Activities were meticulously planned and reviewed with people to ensure they were delivering positive experiences for people.
The leadership at Cheshire Springs was exceptionally supportive and knowledgeable. This meant people were kept safe from the risk of harm and abuse through robust governance systems and an ongoing cycle of continuous improvement and learning from events which occurred.
Cheshire Springs and the leadership was highly regarded by professionals who worked with the service.
The environment was clean and very well maintained.
