Date of Assessment: 13 to 27 January 2026. Consensus Support Services – Moor Lane is a residential care home providing care to people with a learning disability and autistic people which can accommodate up to 9 people. At the time of our inspection, 9 people were living at the home. This was a scheduled assessment, we reviewed all quality statements. At our last inspection this service was rated good. At this inspection the service has remained good.
The provider delivered positive quality of life outcomes for people by managing people’s health and well-being effectively. Care plans described people’s preferences, interests and communication needs. People were supported by staff who knew them well and had received a range of training and supervision to be skilled in their role. Staff followed best practice models and guidance and escalated concerns when needed. Risks to people were assessed and managed, whilst promoting choices and offering new experiences. People received their medicines as prescribed and were supported with their health needs. The service had good relationships with families and professionals and communicated and shared information as appropriate. Governance systems monitored and assessed the quality and safety of the service and identified areas for improvement. The service had developed a positive culture and stable staff team to effectively deliver person centred care. Leaders were approachable, responsive and supportive.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People were treated as individuals and supported to achieve their own goals. A consistent staff team knew people’s routines and preferences and worked well together to provide person centred care. People had individually designed rooms which reflected their identity and supported their sensory needs. People were supported to access the local area, outdoor space and a range of activities of their choice. Staff were caring and compassionate and treated people with dignity and respect
