During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who received personal care. All told us that they were happy with the service they received and that they had been involved in putting together and reviewing their care plans.

One person told us 'I am happy here. It was the best decision to come here'.staff do a brilliant job'. People explained that they always have familiar staff assisting them with personal care.

Each person living within Langdale Court had an emergency buzzer which they could use if they required staff assistance. People told us that there was someone available 24 hours a day and that staff came quickly when they used their buzzers.

The manager showed us a leaflet about safeguarding which she explained was given to everyone who used the service. The leaflet included the contact details of relevant support organisations.

We found that the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive. People told us that they were able to give feedback on the service through residents meetings and also at their individual review meetings. We saw that people could also complete annual satisfaction surveys.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not speak with people using the service during this visit. When we visited Langdale Court 13 September 2012 we spoke with four people about the service they received. They were happy with their care and told us that staff treated them with respect. One person told us staff were helpful and "will do anything for you."

During our visit 17 January 2013 we saw that people's needs had been assessed and care planned to meet their needs.

13 September 2012

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people about the service they received. They were happy with their care and told us that staff treated them with respect. One person told us staff were helpful and 'will do anything for you.' Another person told us 'everything runs smoothly'. Another told us staff were always helpful. Although people spoke highly of the care they received we found that care was not always planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare.
