All Inspections

28 September 2023

During a routine inspection

We carried out an announced comprehensive inspection of the Fortune Green Practice (the practice) which included a site visit on 28 September 2023.

Overall, the practice is rated as Good

Safe - Good

Effective - Good

Caring - Good

Responsive - Good

Well-led - Good

It was the first comprehensive inspection of the practice. The service had previously been operated by a single doctor as provider, whose practice we inspected in December 2018, and rated Good overall. Information regarding the previous registration can be found on the following page of our website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-3832027886 .

The doctor entered into partnership with a colleague, with the new provider partnership being registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in September 2022.

Why we carried out this inspection

We carried out this inspection as part of our inspection programme and in line with our inspection priorities.

How we carried out the inspection

This inspection was carried out in a way which enabled us to spend a minimum amount of time on site. This included:

  • Conducting staff interviews using video conferencing.
  • Completing clinical searches on the practice’s patient records system (this was with consent from the provider and in line with all data protection and information governance requirements).
  • Reviewing patient records to identify issues and clarify actions taken by the provider.
  • Requesting evidence from the provider.
  • A short site visit.
  • Reviewing feedback provided directly by patients via the CQC website.

Our findings

We based our judgement of the quality of care at this service on a combination of:

  • what we found when we inspected
  • information from our ongoing monitoring of data about services and
  • information from the provider, patients, the public and other organisations.

We found that:

  • People are protected from avoidable harm and abuse.
  • People have good outcomes because they receive effective care and treat that meets their needs.
  • People are supported, treated with dignity and respect and are involved as partners in their care.
  • People’s needs are met through the way services are organised and delivered.
  • The leadership, governance and culture promote the delivery of high-quality, person-centre care.

Whilst we found no breaches of regulations, the practice should:

  • Review the process for actioning safety alerts.
  • Continue with work to improve the uptake rates for childhood immunisations and cervical cancer screening.
  • Continue with plans to carry out more multi-cycle clinical audits.
  • Continue with efforts to expand the Patient Participation Group with the involvement of practice patients.

Details of our findings and the evidence supporting our ratings are set out in the evidence tables.
