During a routine inspection

There were 3 people receiving a 24 hour a day service when we completed our inspection. The service was provided by 15 staff members. People who use the service had difficulties with verbal communication and therefore were not able to talk to us. We spoke to the representatives of people who use the service and staff. Relatives we spoke to said that they were happy with the service their relative received. One person told us, “Staff support my relative to do lots of different activities”.

We saw that people’s needs were assessed and that they were involved in planning their care and support on an on going basis.

People knew the staff team who provide their service and people told us that they thought their relatives were safe and treated with dignity and respect.

The staff we spoke with demonstrated that they had knowledge and understanding of people's needs and knew people's routines and how they liked to be supported.

One staff member told us, “People get good care and support from enthusiastic staff”. A person’s relative told us that the one to one staffing levels enabled the service to provide individualised care and support.
